Frequently asked questions

Reach out to us and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
- What is AirShaper?
- AirShaper is a cloud-based aerodynamics platform that lets you run CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations on your 3D models straight from your browser — no high-end hardware or specialist background required. You upload your design and set the flow conditions, and we handle the meshing, solving and post-processing for you.
- Do I need CFD experience to use AirShaper?
- No. AirShaper is built to make aerodynamic simulation accessible: you provide the 3D model and a few flow settings, and we take care of the meshing and solver setup. For more in-depth studies, our engineers are available for consultancy on the Professional and Enterprise plans.
- What’s the difference between steady-state and transient simulations?
- A steady-state simulation computes a time-averaged view of the flow and is ideal for most aerodynamic studies. A transient simulation captures how the flow develops over time — useful for unsteady phenomena such as vortex shedding or oscillating wakes. Transient simulations are available on the Enterprise plan.
- What types of analysis can I run?
- Alongside a standard analysis of the flow and performance coefficients, you can run an Analysis with Design Advice — an adjoint simulation that shows where to reshape your model — or Morphing, where our algorithms automatically adapt your geometry for less drag or more downforce. Availability depends on your plan.
- How long does a simulation take?
- Runtimes depend on the size and complexity of your model and the resolution you choose. You’ll be notified as soon as your results are ready to explore online.
- What if a simulation fails?
- If a simulation fails. we'll immediately dive into the details to see why. If a simulation should fail, we’ll dive into the details and see what happened. We will contact you and happily advise you on how to make it work or grant you a new simulation should the error have been on our side.
- What results and outputs do I get?
- Every simulation gives you interactive 3D results in your browser — pressure clouds, surface pressure and friction, streamlines and more. From the Professional plan onward you also get 2D slices, a PDF report and the raw data for further analysis.
- Can I share simulations with my team?
- Yes. From the Professional plan onward you can share your simulations, and Enterprise adds multiple seats along with comparison and batch-run tools so your whole team can collaborate.
- How do credits work?
- Each plan includes a set number of credits that you use to run simulations, and they stay valid for one year. You can always renew your plan for more credits, or upgrade to a larger plan whenever you need more features.
- What are my payment options?
- We support the majority of credit cards like Visa, Mastercard and American Express, as well as PayPal
- We're a company. Can we get an invoice?
- Yes, just contact us and we’ll send you an invoice.
- Is VAT included in the price?
- The pricing page mentions the price both without and with VAT. At checkout, the price including VAT will be clearly displayed.
