We received an extremely precise 3D scan of the Tesla Cybertruck from A2MAC1: every single detail, inside and out, is in there. Air deflectors, windscreen wipers, underfloor & suspension covers, ... even the wiring is inside! So a massive thank you to them.
So this is a fantastic opportunity to study the Cybertruck aerodynamics in detail and see how realistic the claimed drag coefficient of 0.335 really is. Yes, that's still far larger than a sedan, and the CdA (taking the frontal area into account) is even larger! But given its edgy design, it's still an impressive feat.
In this video, we dive into the details of the air deflectors, the flow separation areas, the vortices around the A-pillar, the aerodynamic drag of the mirrors etc.
